To get to any of these, turn west off Indiana Hwy.49 at Indian Boundary Road.
The first traffic signal is Plaza Drive [to the right], and the driveway to the WaterBird & Best Western [to the left]. The Gray Goose’s driveway is a quarter mile further (west) beyond the traffic signal, on the left.
 
The Gray Goose Inn has its own shuttle van for connections to the South Shore Railroad station; for other hotels you will need to call a cab.
The clerk at the Best Western recommended 24-7 Cab Co; 866-940-7575 or 219-762-7575.  They also advertise a flat rate to the Chicago airports.
The airport shuttle bus company does not go to the Chesterton hotels; it only goes to Merrillville, and it costs a LOT more than the trains anyway.
 
There are at least a dozen eateries in the neighborhood. Google Earth shows these within walking distance:

Best Western’s website lists these as being a bit over half a mile away: you might want to drive if you don’t have Really Comfortable walking shoes along.
