RECENT QUILT PROJECTS
This is a baby-quilt that I just finished for a co-worker:
So-far, nobody has mentioned noticing that the diamonds with the
bumblebee print form a letter V.
The little boy is named A R Wylie V.
The colors were picked to coordinate with the bedding his mom had
bought:
This is the current work in progress:
The blocks were constructed at a hobby convention back in January, and
the quilt-in-progress was then raffled to help cover travel costs for
the featured guests.
This was at a music convention, I should mention.
A science fiction folk music convention.
The curly looking yellow block in the middle of the second row was
autographed by the featured guests.
I ironed a slab of freezer paper onto the back of the fabric, to keep
it steady.
I'm in the process of embroidering-over the autographs.
I don't really trust even Sharpie pens to be REALLY permanent on a
quilt.
Besides, the I know the winner has cats: sooner or later the quilt WILL
get washed.
Once the yellow block is finished and quilted, I'll be connecting the
blocks together using Georgia Bonsteel's lap-quilting technique.
Then I will UPS it to the winner.
