Base squares are 4", 6", or 8".
Background fabrics can vary.
I used woodsy-tone batiks on the 8" and 6" squares shown here;
the 4" one is on a sort of impressionistic woodsy-foliage print.
I can also get more realistic-looking woods images,
including camouflage-prints on denim.

4" square shows only head and neck of bird, measures 6" wide and tall stood on point like this.

Bird on state silhouette is approximately 4" square.

Whole-bird applique' on 6" square is 8.25" wide, 10.5" tall

Whole-bird applique' on 8" square is 11.5" wide, 13 5/8" tall

They all take about the same amount of time to cut out and assemble, 
so you get your choice of size as well as background fabric for your money.

Potholders $5 each. Fabric on front varies; back and batting 100% cotton. They really work *as* potholders, besides looking cool on the wall.
